About Me

My first camera was a small 110 camera, a cheap little plastic thing I ordered out of a "book order" catalog when I was around eight years old. Yeah, I skipped right over the Harry Potter books and went right for the little camera kit. When I got my first roll of prints back, I knew they sucked. I also knew the camera was cheap, and although I didn't know anything else about photography, I knew that there was no way this little piece of plastic could ever produce the likes of the wonderful pictures from my National Geographic mags.

I forgot about photography. I'll admit it. I think I lost hope when my hard-earned, twenty dollar camera kit let me down in third grade.

Enter junior year in high school. I need to satisfy my art requirements for graduation. The same little voice that urged me to gloss over the Harry Potter books once again spoke to me. In reality, it was more like a shout. So I signed up for the photo class. It turned out to be the most expensive important decision of my high school career.

Four years later, I am getting ready to leave Fresno. Off to Los Angeles, to go to art school. Majoring in Photography and Imaging. The kid who gave up on taking pictures for almost a decade.

While I also love such things as graphic design, traditional print-making, and simply being in and enjoying the outdoors, I can't stand being without a camera close at hand.

Photography is what I do. And I aim to do it well.
